St Neots Riverside Half Marathon Course Guide

From Start to Mile 3

Anyone who has not run the race before, or is attempting their first half marathon, may find some additional information about the course useful. For this reason we have compiled the following guide. It can make the route sound quite hilly but it is considered to be a fast course and is a personal best course for many people, so please don’t be put off! We hope it helps you to run well on the day.

The race starts in a residential area of St Neots. It is about a five minute walk away from the Race headquarters. It will be well signposted but can be crowded so please allow plenty of time to get there from the Headquarters. The race starts in a residential street and almost immediately turns right onto Potton Road, one of the main roads out of the town.  Please watch out for the speed humps in the road.

The road drags up slightly for around a quarter of a mile before levelling off to cross a railway bridge and start the countryside part of the route. Just before the one mile mark the route turns left and starts a long gentle downhill. After this the race is flat between the two and three mile marks where it enters the village of Abbotsley.
